Softwaves have the same or better clinical benefit as highly focused shockwaves for most medical conditions. A mechanism of this therapy is delivering shearing forces on the cell membranes making them permeable but keeping them intact, fooling the body into thinking an injury has occurred while initiating the natural biologic process of repair.

Immediately following treatment there is typically a significant reduction in pain, swelling and inflammation, as well as improved range of motion.
